Outcome 10:

Use appropriate teaching/learning principles to guide health teaching.

Throughout Auburn's PCNP program, I have learned that educating patients is a key role of APRNs. Utilizing various teaching strategies, I have educated patients and my fellow classmates on various topics. I have provided education to patients on their diagnoses, medications, treatments, immunizations, and health promotion recommendations. Below are several SOAP notes that include comprehensive education provided to various patients seen while at clinical. Additionally, I have attached the hypertension management flyer I created to educate patients on risk factors, complications, treatments, and overall hypertension disease information. I also created an EBP poster on a self-management blood pressure program to improve hypertension control. I presented the poster to my fellow classmates, professors, and undergraduate students while in the PCNP program. Click on the links below:

I have also conducted various virtual and in-person presentations to my peers throughout the PCNP program. Topics presented include the following: Alpha 5 Reductase drug class, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Suture Demonstration, Self-management Blood Pressure Program, and the FNP Role.

I have attached videos and presentations below:
