Utilize and conduct research that will promote quality health care and its delivery to improve clinical outcomes for selected population groups.

Outcome 4:

Throughout Auburn University's PCNP program, I completed three separate evidence-based practice (EBP) courses. EBP is a foundation skill of advanced practice nurses that involves conducting, reviewing and incorporating best evidence practices. The courses allowed me to become familiar with the EBP process and conduct a project for the management of hypertension.

I formulated an EBP project on implementing evidence-based nonpharmacological interventions in addition to pharmacological interventions to control blood pressure in primary care. Attached you will find my final paper that includes each step of the EBP process and project. Additionally, I have attached the poster I presented at the 2022 Auburn University Research Symposium. The presentation involved incorporating a self-managment program to improve hypertension control. As guidelines change over time, understanding the EBP process allows advanced nurses to formulate decisions backed by reliable evidence. Click the links below:

In the EBP process, I formulated a stakeholder presentation. Below you will find a video to my stakeholder presentation where I presented my project proposal to my preceptor in the Spring Semester of 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I recorded my presentation and emailed it to my preceptor and staff. My stakeholders were able to view the presentation and give me feedback on my project.
